    The Jewish Funeral Practices Committee of Greater Washington (JFPCGW) cordially invites you to attend our biennial membership meeting at 10:30 am on Sunday, June 22, 2003, at B’nai Israel Congregation, 6301 Montrose Road in Rockville, Maryland.  

    The meeting itself will last an hour and fifteen minutes.  The agenda will include:  (1) discussion of the incorporation, and changes in the governance, of JFPCGW; (2) a review of the first year under our new contract with Hines-Rinaldi and Jefferson Funeral Homes; (3) reports on recent developments in funeral practices and cemetery options; and (4) a discussion period during which congregational representatives can raise questions and concerns.  We urge you and other interested members of your committee to participate.

    Our meeting is being held immediately prior to, and in conjunction with, the North American Chevra Kadisha Conference, which begins at 1:00 pm Sunday afternoon, June 22, at B’nai Israel and continues through Tuesday morning, June 24.  The cost of the full conference (including four meals) is $200.  However participants in the JFPCGW membership meeting can attend two of the ten conference workshops on Sunday afternoon for only $20, and/or the dinner and evening program for $35.  To facilitate participation in the afternoon workshops, a kosher box lunch will also be available for $15.

    Attached * for your information is a full schedule for Sunday, June 22, including a description of the afternoon workshops. Also attached is a registration form.  Please print and/or photocopy it as necessary, and complete a separate form for each participant, indicating each of the activities for which he/she wishes to register.  Even participants attending only the JFCGW membership meeting should submit a registration form.  Forms and checks or credit card information should be sent to Kavod v’Nichum, 8112 Sea Water Path, Columbia, MD 21045.
